About
Bringing years of administrative and management experience in healthcare, education, and social services along with extensive community involvement and a demonstrated commitment to the Town of Kingsville and its residents. For the past four years, I have worked at St. Clair College in the Centre for Academic Excellence and Quality Assurance. I am currently committed full-time to serving the amazing community of Kingsville.
How important to you is public engagement? If you support it, what is your plan for improved engagement of residents in decision-making processes?
Public engagement is extremely important. One possibility is more public input sessions on planning issues and other important topics and working groups that can be formed to gather input from residents with concerns or expertise on specific topics. I think our residents have a wealth of valuable knowledge that is an untapped resource. Outdoor lighting is one example. I recently had an Outdoor Lighting working group approved and am currently working on finalizing the membership of this group which can meet informally to come up with recommendations for Council, much like a Committee would, but without some of the restrictions and formalities. I would love to see this type of group become common, and for Council to benefit from the vast knowledge, experience, and interest that resides in our community.
For our current council members. Which council decision made last term would you change?
If Council makes a decision, then decides it was not the right decision, there are processes in place to revisit the decision and change it if desired. I think we have worked well as a Council to make well-informed, thoughtful decisions. I'm proud of our record as a Council and my record as Councillor.
Traffic is one of the top issues facing our town. If elected, what would you do to fix this problem on the main streets( Main & Division)?

One of the first things I did as a Councillor was ask fix the traffic lights on Main St E to be properly aligned. Because of Covid disruptions to traffic patterns, it took several years, but us now underway. I also sat in the Collector Road committee which recommended the development of a West Side Collector Road extending Heritage from the Beer Store to Road 2 to divert unnecessary traffic from the downtown/East side and proactively prevent congestion problems as the West side grows. Council also recently adopted a Master Transportation plan that suggest short, medium, and long-term solutions to relieve traffic problems on the East side. I believe there are some good recommendations that can be implemented, and some that can be starting points fir a made-in-Kingsville solution. Good planning going forward can ensure we include pedestrians and cyclists in our designs and include natural traffic calming features in our roads.
