Hi, I'm Sheri Lowrie and I'm running for council here in Kingsville. If the following points are important to you, vote for me to have your voice heard:

  • Enhance recreational opportunities for all who live and visit here
  • Make Kingsville a destination to visit, and a great place to live, work and play
  • Create a comprehensive plan for the town's future
  • Develop a well-thought-out strategic plan to develop the school properties.
What does Kingsville need to become a top Ontario tourism attraction?
We are Canadas Most Southern Town! That is big. That is something we can grow on. Kingsville-on-the-lake, in my opinion couldn’t define us and we couldn’t live up to that title but Canadas Most Southern town can sell!
We have so much to offer visitors to our community and we should be putting more effort to have people as close as Windsor, Chatham and southern Ontario to consider us a destination, whether a day trip or a weekend getaway.
The word on the street is that people love Kingsville - living here and visiting here. We need to be attractive, competitive and make ourselves known as a destination.
How you ask? Marketing. More marketing of our uniqueness in being Canada’s Most Southern town. Our restaurants sell, our Highland Games, Greenway Jam, Open Streets, Wine tours, Jack Miners are all sellable not only to enjoy by our own community but bring in visitors from all over.
Whats your strategy for our school properties?
The school properties is a hot topic for sure! We need all the ideas from the community to come to the table, I alone will not decide this, but I am excited to be part of planning for what could be.
We need to take a deeper dive into the Main Street Development committee suggestions as they did a lot of work to make recommendations, we need community input, we need to see visuals of what our options could look like and we need to make hard decisions at the end of the day that won’t please everyone.
This project excites me as it will define our future direction. A bittersweet project for sure as I graduated from both KPS and KDHS but a meaningful one that I could be proud of at the end of my term.

Let’s start with the fun!
I want to enhance recreation opportunities for all who live here. This is everything from hosting big sports tournaments to bringing in more live music. More programming for kids, retiree socials, art in the park, a half marathon, summer camp, night markets…. the opportunities are endless.
We already have a lot of fun but we need it to be supported and encouraged from council.
What do you want to see, attend or use? Even big ideas are great - like a sportsplex with an indoor track, turf, rock climbing and batting cages to enjoy year round!
