    Your concerns are my concerns
How do you feel about our waterfront?

Great question. Keeping our Waterfront in the public's hands was one of the reasons why past council made investments into that area (Mettawas) and to have the Grovedale as an anchor. There were previous plans of connecting Mettawas with Lakeside park via boardwalk along the lake. Also there were plans to have a splash pad, playground, gardens, walking path and a pier out into the lake (all previous prac committee recommendations) however that never made it past council. There are several factors that contribute to the Mettawas Beach not always being swim friendly (Goose droppings, shallow water) That being the case, I believe we can still have some amenities there for the public to enjoy along the lakefront. I think a boardwalk connecting our two parks would be a great addition to our walking paths at Lakeside. Making the proper investments in our marina with proper electrical, docks and some kind consistency with deck boxes and new picnic tables. Bottom line is Council needs to make smart investments into our waterfront if we want to keep calling ourselves "Kingsville on the Lake "

How do you plan to keep Kingsville's rural lifestyle while supporting future development projects?

Urban expanse is happening however, it has also brought many positives including new businesses (jobs) and new revenue for the town (taxes) which helps keep our taxes low. The line ups at Tim Horton's, Starbucks and MacDonalds suggest residents like some of the modern conveniences that urbanization brings. A rural lifestyle can be achieved anywhere when you start with attitude and mindset. Orderly, planned and controlled development is key to achieving a balance. We are a caring and active community that cherishes our small town feel. Urban expanse will not change this.

Traffic is one of the top issues facing our town. If elected, what would you do to fix this problem on the main streets( Main & Division)?

There is no one solution to increased traffic on Main and Division. Encouraging people (who are able) to walk or bike instead of driving is good for those that live within relatively close proximity to their destination. Bypass the downtown via Rd.2 for those going East-West. The future may see more car sharing opportunities. With this, car ownership may decrease. Keeping the current flow moving with the optimization of traffic signals. The school moving locations will help at certain times of the day. A service rd behind the Taco Bell, Tim Horton's is an option albeit expensive (1million+) The price of gas has not diminished the amount of vehicles on the road, much to my surprise. Turning lanes at Jasperson. Transit opportunities with Leamington are also a possibility. The transportation master plan outlines many of the options.
